Effects of Red Bull on the Heart

From the marketing, at least one clinical case (a young athlete) of Red Bull overdose was evidenced, with relative postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.

Also, on February 3, 2009, the article in the "Daily Telegraph" entitled " Red Bull: May have triggered heart condition that killed student " described the death of a 21-year-old girl who died after taking four cans of mixed Red Bull to alcohol. It is believed that the subject suffered from a rare heart disease called " Long QT Syndrome ", or a pathological delay in repolarization of the heart. He took a drug for epilepsy and the heart pump was abnormally large. No traces of drugs were found in the medical examination, therefore the pharmacological interaction with these substances is to be excluded. The article also refers to a quote from a specialist with the following sentence: "The medical examiner recorded that the 21-year-old girl died of natural causes".

In March 2014, another girl (UK) accused three heart attacks after drinking alcohol containing a portion of Red Bull. This case certainly remained under investigation until March 2014, but there is no information on the current state of the investigation.
