E481 STEAROIL SODIUM-LACTILATED
Sodium stearoyl lactate is a food additive of natural origin, obtained by combining stearic acid and lactic acid.
The origin of the stearic acid can be both vegetable and animal, even if, almost always, that of vegetable origin is used.
These food additives are used, in various foods, above all for their emulsifying, stabilizing and leavening function.
They can be contained in different products, such as bakery products.
At the moment there are no known negative side effects for human health deriving from the consumption of food products added with stearoil sodium lactate.
Dose ADI: 20 mg per kg of body weight.
