Heart rate at rest

How to measure your resting heart rate if you don't have a heart rate monitor

The detection must be carried out in the morning, as soon as you get up and after sitting for a few minutes.

Count the beats for a full minute and note the result in a table (you can count the beats for 15 seconds and then multiply them by 4).

This procedure must be repeated for 3/5 days. Calculate the mathematical average of the measured values.

WHERE THE ROUNDS ARE DETECTED

Heart rate (number of beats at a certain time) can be measured by palpating the radial artery (on the wrist)

Or the carotid artery (on the neck)

The applied pressure must be light especially at the carotid artery.

Interpretation of resting heart rate values:

bradycardia

<60 beats per minute

Normal

60-100 beats per minute

Tachycardia

> 100 beats per minute
