Tingling in the Right Arm - Causes and Symptoms

Definition

The tingling in the right arm is a symptom that presents itself as a feeling of numbness or loss of sensitivity.

This manifestation mainly results from trauma, postural problems and excessive use of the arm, as in the case of performing repetitive activities during the day.

The tingling in the right arm can also occur in the case of arthritic processes of the limb or spine (especially of the cervical tract), tendinopathies (eg epicondylitis) and muscular disorders.

This symptom can also be observed due to central or peripheral neuropathies due to brachial plexus lesions, infections, ischemia, ulnar nerve compressions, thoracic outlet syndrome or diabetes.

The tingling in the right arm can occur in the context of cardiovascular problems (eg vasculitis), thyroid disorders (eg hypothyroidism), transient ischemic attack (TIA), vitamin deficiencies and some cancers (eg breast cancer).

Alcohol abuse and the use of certain drugs can also cause tingling in the right arm.
