Indications NORUXOL ® Collagenasi + Protease

NORUXOL ® is used in the enzymatic cleansing of the necrotic material present in the sores and in the lesions of ulcerative, necrotic, post-operative and traumatic origin.

Mechanism of action NORUXOL ® Collagenase + Protease

NORUXOL ® owes its therapeutic activity to the presence of a series of enzymes extracted from Clostridium histolyticum, including Collagenase.

The role of these enzymes in wound healing is of fundamental importance, given their ability to digest the collagen fibers of the lesion, facilitating the loss of the necrotic material, which limits its healing, while exposing it to the serious risk of bacterial infections caused by pathogens also opportunists.

Enzymatic cleansing of the wound and its necrotic material, as well as reducing the risk of potential infections, also induces an increase in cellular and protein turnover, thus improving the histological and functional recovery of the lesion itself.

This activity is further facilitated by the absence of adverse reactions, given the absence of systemic absorption.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

THE COLLAGENASIS IN THE TREATMENT OF DUPUYTREN

Ann Plast Surg. 2013 Mar 18. [Epub ahead of print]

Innovative study that evaluates the possibility of using Collagenase extracted from Clostridium to reduce the classic skin retraction that is observed in Dupuytren's disease, often the cause of disability.

The results seem promising especially in the face of the excellent safety of the therapy itself.

THE USE OF COLLAGENASIS IN OSTEOARTRITICAL PATHOLOGY

Osteoarthritis Cartilage. 1998 May; 6 (3): 177-86.

A study that evaluates the efficacy of collagenase injected intraarticularly in reducing inflammatory processes of the knee, significantly improving the symptomatology in animal models affected by osteoarthritis.

CLINICAL APPLICATIONS OF COLLAGENASIS

Surg Today. 2003; 33 (2): 106-9.

Interesting work that demonstrates how the use of Collagenase can be important in improving the clinical course and the severity of the symptomatology in progress of frankly suppurating sacrococcygeal cysts.

Method of use and dosage

NORUXOL ®

Topical ointment consisting of 1.2 IU of Collagenase and 0.24 IU of Protease associated per gr of product.

The correct use of the medicine involves the application of the appropriate amount of ointment, necessary to completely cover the affected region, on the lesioned skin, suitably cleansed and moistened.

This procedure should be repeated up to twice a day, taking care to cover the surface with sterile gauze.

Warnings NORUXOL ® Collagenase + Protease

The application of NORUXOL ® should be preceded by a medical examination to clarify the extent and origin of the lesion as well as to establish the correct therapeutic protocol.

In any case, the use of NORUXOL ® is exclusively topical, therefore it would be advisable to avoid direct contact with the exposed mucous membranes and clearly ingestion.
