Water Lete

Generality

Lete is the most sold natural effervescent mineral water in Italy.

The Lete water springs are located in the southern Apennines, on the border between Campania and Molise. Lete SpA produces and distributes Lete, Sorgesana and Prata mineral waters.

Acqua Lete is considered a mineral water with unique characteristics, as it has a low sodium content (5.1 mg / l) and provides bicarbonates and calcium.

For many, these characteristics make it useful in nutrition against sodium-sensitive hypertension, in that of the sportsman and of those who struggle to digest after meals.

Functional characteristics

Acqua Lete is the natural effervescent mineral water with the lowest sodium content produced in Italy.

The company advertises this product by attributing digestive, diuretic and beneficial qualities to the sport ; as we shall see, these characteristics are supported by scientific studies conducted at prestigious Italian Universities and published in important international scientific journals, validated by authorizations from the Ministry of Health and compliant with the reference legislation for mineral waters.

Water Lete and Sodium

Sodium is one of the characteristic elements of a mineral water . Its concentration derives from the nature of the rocks with which the mineral water has been in contact. Unlike calcium and magnesium, whose income in the industrialized civilization is low, that of sodium is certainly excessive, far exceeding the limits recommended by the World Health Organization.

Excessive sodium intake is linked above all to the high salt content present in most of the foods we consume. Scientific research in the nutritional field has highlighted the close correlation that exists between the amount of sodium consumed and the risk of developing high blood pressure . Also the intake of mineral water with a high sodium content contributes to the excessive intake of the mineral and, equally important, reduces the body's ability to absorb the calcium naturally present in the water.

The reference legislation for mineral waters establishes that only water that has a sodium content of less than 20 mg / l may be indicated for low-salt diets . Furthermore, the 20 mg / l sodium limit is an essential pre-requisite for recognizing a mineral water as water indicated for the preparation of food for babies and infants .

Bicarbonates, football and sport

Muscle recovery is essential for those who practice sports

The reintegration of mineral salts is fundamental before, during and after physical exercise. Studies and scientific literature suggest that the use of mineral water with a high bicarbonate and calcium content can affect the acid base balance and urinary density.

An important scientific study "Influence of natural mineral water calcium bicarbonate Lete® on the concentration of blood lactate in athletes after exercise" published in " The Open Sports Medicine Journal ", a highly-regarded international scientific journal, has shown that using water Lete first and after the exercise, it guarantees, compared to other waters (minerals) a significant reduction of the levels of lactataemia measured in the 30 'following the exercise. This means that muscle recovery is faster, resulting in a better response to subsequent training loads and less susceptibility to trauma due to muscle fatigue.

A further scientific study " The intake of Lete® calcium bicarbonate mineral water improves the hydration status in athletes after short term anaerobic exercise " published in " The Open Sports Medicine Journal " confirms that the usual consumption of Acqua Lete can improve the state of hydration of the athletes favoring the recovery from fatigue following the effort.

Water Lete and digestion

Dyspepsia is a clinical syndrome characterized by chronic or recurrent symptoms affecting the upper intestinal tract. These symptoms - including abdominal pain, early satiety, sense of postprandial filling, nausea, vomiting and belching - may or may not be associated with food intake.

Several clinical observations suggest that mineral waters, particularly natural effervescent waters, are able to modulate gastrointestinal motor activity due to their particular chemical and physical properties. Indeed, it has been ascertained that calcium and bicarbonate positively influence these disorders.

Calcium acts directly on the contractility of smooth muscles, while bicarbonates act by decreasing gastric emptying time and regulating acid secretions. The regular intake of calcium bicarbonate water "Lete", as attested by the clinical study " Effects of the administration of mineral calcium bicarbonate water Lete® in functional dyspepsia " published in " Clinical and thermal medicine " modulates the motor and secretory activity of the gastrointestinal tract, inducing a significant improvement in the symptoms associated with functional dyspepsia, without requiring important changes in eating habits and lifestyle.

Acqua Lete stimulates and facilitates the digestive functions, as authorized on the label by the DD of the Ministry of Health n. 3650 dated 11/29/2005.
