Indications ACTIGRIP NASALE ® Xilometazolina

ACTIGRIP NASALE® is used as a nasal decongestant during rhinitis, sinusitis and pharyngitis.

Action mechanism ACTIGRIP NASALE ® Xilometazoline

Xylometazoline, active ingredient of ACTIGRIP NASALE®, is an imidazole derivative belonging to the wide category of sympathomimetic drugs.

Sprayed directly into the nasal cavities, Xylomethazoline is concentrated in pharmacologically relevant quantities, selectively interacting with the alpha 1 adrenergic receptors expressed by the smooth muscle cells of the blood vessels, thus determining vasoconstriction.

Vasoconstriction reduces mucosal edema while also controlling mucus secretion, thus restoring the correct patency of the upper airway and the resulting respiratory flow.

The simultaneous presence in ACTIGRIP NASALE® of hyaluronic acid, also improves the health of the mucous membranes, rehydrating them and restoring their histological and functional integrity.

The decongestant effect, which appears a few minutes after the nasal spray is applied, persists for 6-8 hours.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

Method of use and dosage

ACTIGRIP NASALE®

Nasal spray from 1 mg of Xilometazoline hydrochloride per ml of solution.

Generally, the use of 2-3 sprays per day per nostril, spaced about 6-8 hours apart, guarantees an excellent decongestant effect during the day.

In order to avoid the onset of addiction or rebound it would be appropriate to limit the use of the drug to a few days of treatment.

Warnings ACTIGRIP NASALE ® Xilometazolina

Although the use of ACTIGRIP NASALE® is generally safe and well tolerated, the presence of a sympathomimetic with a vasoconstrictor action as an active ingredient, requires the utmost caution in patients with hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, renal pathologies, glaucoma, in elderly patients and in pregnant women.

Prolonged topical use of sympathomimetics could result in addiction, significantly reducing its clinical efficacy.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

ACTIGRIP NASALE® could be used during pregnancy only in cases of real need and clearly under the strict supervision of your doctor.
