Product features Kre-alkalyn Maximize

Alkaline creatine is a patented product. Synthesized in the laboratory, it was created with the aim of improving stability in aqueous environment and its intestinal absorption.

The commercially available creatine monohydrate is characterized by a pH of around 6.9, which in a watery environment involves a high conversion to creatinine, an inactive metabolite. In the "alkaline" formulation the pH rises to 12, delaying, and according to the manufacturer canceling, the

extra muscle conversion, in creatinine. All this should translate into greater availability of the biologically active product, a reduction of potential side effects, an improvement in the pharmacokinetic properties and finally an enhancement of the benefits. However, it is difficult to express a critical opinion given the absence of noteworthy clinical trials, and the presence of only studies carried out and / or financed by the same manufacturer.

Creatine - present for about 120 grams in the body of a 70kg man, 95% concentrates at the muscular level, and for the remaining part between the brain and the heart. The need for a healthy adult is about 2 grams per day, equal to the average amount excreted in the urine in the form of creatinine, a portion that can be recovered half through the endogenous synthesis and half through food intake. The endogenous synthesis starts in the kidney starting from arginine and glycine, then ends in the liver through the addition of methionine by the enizma SAM. The amount introduced through feeding through food of animal origin (mainly meat) reaches the intestinal level, where it is partly absorbed by enterocytes through a mediated sodium transport. Through the circulatory torrent, together with the endogenous one, creatine will thus be able to reach the muscle tissue, where it compensates for the amount lost during muscle contraction. At the skeletal muscle level, creatine can play its biological role, initially being phosphorylated by the enzyme creatin kinase, and then transferring its phosphoric group to ADP, guaranteeing the synthesis of ATP. The ATP produced in this way will support muscle contraction during the first minute of intense physical exercise, then leaving space for other metabolic ways of energy production. Part of the muscle phosphocreatine pull will undergo a non-enzymatic hydrolysis process, which will mediate its transformation into creatinine and subsequent renal disposal.

Rationalization of integration into the Kre-alkalyn sport practice Maximize

The benefits obtainable from supplementation with creatine monohydrate are well documented and characterized by intense study activity, which in the last 20 years has made creatine one of the most successful supplements in sports practice.

Among the effects almost unanimously accepted by the scientific world it is possible to recall:

  1. Improvement of strength and maximal and submaximal power;
  2. Anaerobic performance improvement;
  3. The reduction of the feeling of muscular fatigue;
  4. Improving ventilatory capacities;

To these are added, albeit still in a debate phase, myoprotective action and the improvement of body composition.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for alkaline creatine, given the absence of standardized clinical trials and published in reliable scientific journals. However, the manufacturer of this alternative form of creatine publishes on its website 4 different studies which show:

  • 25.85% increase in workload compared to athletes supplemented with conventional creatine monohydrate at the same dose;
  • Increased protein synthesis in vitro compared to creatine monohydrate;
  • Absence of side effects;
  • Reduced creatinine levels compared to creatine monohydrate;
  • Improvement of the lipidemic profile;
  • Clear improvement of VO2max compared to the group supplemented with creatine monohydrate.

Recommended use by the company - Kre-alkalyn Maximize

It is recommended to take 2-4 capsules a day, preferably 30 minutes before training in case of sporting activity.

Use in sports practice Kre-alkalyn Maximize

Contrary to what can be described for creatine monohydrate, for which there are different supplementary protocols tested, the absence of publications does not allow us to understand how much the supplementation with alkaline creatine differs from that monohydrate.

Surely, it would be advisable to maintain the quotas suggested by the manufacturer, even if in the previously described works different dosages emerge, ranging from 3 grams / day up to 10 grams / day.

The form in capsules should also prevent any contact with acidic liquids (eg fruit juice, used to solubilize creatine), potentially damaging the transformation into creatinine, and best preserve its content.

According to the same principle, therefore, the intake should be recommended on an empty stomach to avoid an increase in acidity due to digestion.

Synergies Kre-alkalyn Maximize

Carbohydrates + Creatine: taken in the hour before the race they guarantee an important energy support. Furthermore, creatine muscle uptake appears to be significantly enhanced by insulin released following carbohydrate intake, with an increase of more than 60% compared to that obtained with creatine alone.

Some evidences also show an increase in the levels of the glucose transporter GLUT 4, on muscle tissue following the intake of creatine, with an increase in glycogen resynthesis capacities; this action could be used in the post-workout anabolic window.

Carbohydrates + creatine + proteins: guarantees an increase in absorption comparable to that present only for simple carbohydrates. In this case, however, there would be a potential advantage both on the nutritional intake of the snack and a reduction in the potentially glycemic peak.

CLA + creatine + protein : at the doses of 6 g, 9 g and 36 g, respectively, taken for 5 weeks, it has been shown to be effective in improving strength and increasing muscle mass by 3 - 4% in combination with strength training.

Arginine + Creatine : seems to provide a better ergogenic boost with an increase in the maximum force peak.

Kre-alkalyn side effects Maximize

Several studies agree that creatine supplementation is safe in healthy individuals. In particular, studies relating to chronic supplementation (3-5 g / day for one year) and acute (20 g / day for a week) do not show any particular side effects.

However, it should be remembered that ingesting too high or poorly solubilized doses could be accompanied by abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, as well as chronic doses, especially if performed concomitantly with high-protein diets could significantly increase renal load.

Finally, even if it does not represent a real side effect, it must be considered that the increase in weight that derives from the accumulation of water inside the cell, could have a negative impact on performance.

Precautions for use Kre-alkalyn Maximize

The product is contraindicated in cases of renal or hepatic disease, cardiovascular disease and / or hypertension, in pregnancy, during lactation and under 12 years and adolescents not yet trained.

In the event of prolonged use (over 6/8 weeks), medical advice is required.
