Indications CRYSTACIDE ® Hydrogen peroxide

CRYSTACIDE ® is indicated in the treatment of skin infections sustained by microorganisms sensitive to hydrogen peroxide.

Mechanism of action CRYSTACIDE ® Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide, active ingredient of CRYSTACIDE ®, is a free radical of highly reactive oxygen with an intense oxidizing power capable of altering the normal structures and functions of biomolecules, thus exerting a bacteriostatic and weakly bactericidal action.

Generally it is the interaction of peroxide with proteins and nucleic acids of the bacterial element that determines a reduction of the vital capacities of the latter, thus compromising both the normal metabolic processes and the replicative ones, thus limiting the proliferation and spread of the species pathogenic.

The aforementioned bacteriostatic activity, safe when performed on non-closed districts, has been shown to be effective against Gram-positive, Gram-negative and on some fungi, thus defining a fairly broad spectrum of action that allows its optimal use in the clinical setting .

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN ULCER HEALING

Panminerva Med. 2010 Jun; 52 (2 Suppl 1): 11-4.

Very interesting study that demonstrates how the cutaneous application of hydrogen peroxide, improving the hemodynamic characteristics of the microcirculation can facilitate the healing of ulcers in affected patients

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN THE TREATMENT OF ACNE VOLGARE

Curr Med Res Opin. 2003; 19 (2): 135-8.

Italian study that demonstrates how the cutaneous application of hydrogen peroxide can improve the extent of inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions in patients suffering from acne vulgaris.

HEMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

Angiology. 2003 May-Jun; 54 (3): 325-30.

Yet another study that evaluates the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide in improving venous limb hypertension, reducing the risk of venous ulcer formation and, at the same time, facilitating healing.

Method of use and dosage

CRYSTACIDE ®

Cream for cutaneous use at 1% of hydrogen peroxide.

Generally we recommend applying the correct amount of cream, on the skin region to be treated, 2-3 times a day, taking care not to prolong the treatment for more than three weeks.

Warnings CRYSTACIDE ® Hydrogen peroxide

The application of CRYSTACIDE ® should be limited to infected skin and for short periods of time, since repeated skin applications could give rise to sensitization, tissue discoloration and local or systemic adverse reactions.

It is also recommended to avoid contact with exposed eyes and mucous membranes as well as with deep skin lesions.

Store CRYSTACIDE ® in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

The use of CRYSTACIDE ® during pregnancy should be limited to cases of inevitable necessity and constantly supervised by your gynecologist.

Interactions

It is recommended to avoid simultaneous use of other skin or systemic oxidants.

Contraindications CRYSTACIDE ® Hydrogen peroxide

The use of CRYSTACIDE ® is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or to one of its excipients.

Undesirable effects - Side effects

The use of CRYSTACIDE ® is generally safe and well tolerated.

Only rarely is it possible to perceive a slight burning sensation, while the adverse reactions to hypersensitivity to the active ingredient are even rarer.

Note
