Methylcellulose is obtained from cellulose, a polysaccharide constituting wood and all plant structures, methylated chemically.
It is mainly used as an emulsifier, anti-aggregating, thickening and stabilizing agent.
It can be contained in different products.
High concentrations of methylcellulose can cause intestinal problems, such as swelling, constipation and diarrhea, due to the insolubility of this product.
