Elasticity and joint mobility to avoid injuries: a sensible reflection

If we analyze the recurrent sensations reported by those who prepare their bodies through activities dedicated to flexibility and joint mobility, the feeling of how important it is to have a body that is always agile, flexible, extendable and able to perform all movements with maximum amplitude appears clear., through their own strength or at the very least supported by small tools and machinery, without suffering unpleasant injuries.

The lack of an approach linked to a discipline dedicated mainly to the improvement of the body's useful features to move freely and naturally, in fact prepares each of us every day for easy risks for injuries and joint pains of all kinds, limiting the quality of life, the quantity of movements and negatively affecting our body's strength, speed, fluency and reactivity.

If we are therefore aware that every daily activity requires a physique with muscles that are always toned, elastic and ready for any eventuality, that of promoting a specific discipline, linked to the improvement of muscular and joint characteristics, becomes an important goal to reach a mental well-being. continuous and constant global physique.

When we realize from our own sensations that a very retracted and contracted musculature is less strong and often limited even in the movement capacity of an articulation, we must recognize that the lack of a complete physical efficiency involves considerable limits to the organism, and it becomes necessary evaluate all the factors that can modify and improve their behavior and function, to intervene promptly and correctly thus avoiding further discomfort for the body and mind, limiting all possible complications.

It is therefore necessary, always and gradually, adequately and consciously, to maintain the complete functionality of our wonderful locomotor apparatus, "the supporting structure of our organism that allows us every movement", to remove its limits, improve its qualities and the potential. However, it remains possible and probable that, despite all our good will, some physiological limits appear and sometimes appear insuperable. Sometimes, there are indeed concomitant, conditioning and limiting factors for our joints and our muscles, which are attributable to genetics, the ability of tendons and ligaments to extend adequately, and to the bone structure of joints, sometimes limited by surfaces articular that physiologically can come into contact with each other causing strong and considerable friction.

In any case, the insufficiency of the body heating level, which is sometimes underestimated due to bad habits or the lack of adequate advice, is never negligible. It is therefore important that any physical activity does not start before having practiced at least an adequate body heating, for a time not less than 10 - 15 minutes, in order to avoid with any means available to prepare for risks for contractures, traumas, muscle sprains and tears, even severe ones. At certain times of the year it makes sense to also evaluate the external temperature level which for long periods remains very rigid, unsatisfactory and inadequate for our needs (sometimes even within some sports facilities), and which must always be mitigated by a thorough, complete, conscious and rigorous general physical conditioning to be carried out before any other specific activity.

It is also a good idea to introduce considerable cardio-vascular conditioning to help our balance, through the aid of moderate aerobic activities, suitable for improving blood circulation, heart function, performance and all those protective functions for our body and joints, favoring once again mobility, motor coordination, elasticity, and at the same time developing a gradual reduction in muscular and articular tensions, as well as improving respiratory capacity and resistance to effort, increasing ease of movement of one's body in space through greater and wider articular excursion, and consciously enriching the feeling of overall health of the body, physical recovery and general relaxation of the mind.
