Short lead

The short adductor muscle is a triangular-shaped muscle originating from the medial portion of the anterior aspect of the superior branch of the pubis and from the superior portion of the anterior aspect of the ischiopubic branch.

It is inserted on the upper third of the medial lip of the rough line of the femur.

It is placed deeper than the long adductor and with its action adduces, flexes and weakens the thigh weakly.

It is innervated by the anterior branch of the obturator nerve of the lumbar plexus (L2-L4).
