Horehound of water in Herbalist: Property of the Marrubio of water
The polyphenols derived from chlorogenic and litospermic acid, present in the aquatic horehound, have been shown to reduce thyroid function; however, adequate clinical studies are not available. It can be used only on medical prescription in completely selected cases (tachycardia and hyperthyroidism).
Contraindications
Avoid taking in case of hypersensitivity to one or more components.
Pharmacological Interactions
- it can interfere with thyroid hormones and iodine metabolism.
