Indications TRIATOP ® Ketoconazole

TRIATOP ® is used in the treatment of fungal pathologies of the scalp supported by microorganisms sensitive to Ketoconazole and responsible for itching, dandruff, oiliness and seborrheic dermatitis.

Mechanism of action TRIATOP ® Ketoconazole

TRIATOP ® is a shampoo based on Ketoconazole, therefore indicated for the treatment of scalp infections sustained by dermatophytes, yeasts and fungi responsible for persistent itching, dandruff, oiliness, scaling and seborrheic dermatitis.

The antifungal mechanism is performed through the inhibition of the enzyme 14 alpha-sterol demethylase, involved in the synthesis of? Ergosterol, a key element of the plasma membrane of the microorganism, whose absence reduces its protective and communicative properties.

All this, thanks also to the accumulation of intermediate metabolites interfering with the normal activity of membrane exchange, results in the inhibition of the growth of the fungus and in the prompt regression of the symptomatology in progress.

The absence of systemic absorption of the active principle also allows to considerably limit the possible onset of clinically relevant side effects.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

KETOCONAZOLE WITH VARIOUS PERCENTAGES AND CLINICAL EFFICACY

Skin Pharmacol Appl Skin Physiol. 2002 Nov-Dec; 15 (6): 434-41.

Work that compares the clinical effectiveness of various percentages of ketoconazole in shampoos in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. Although in all cases an improvement in clinical symptoms has been obtained, 2% Ketoconazole shampoo has generally been more effective.

KETOCONAZOLE IN THE ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA

Dermatology. 1998; 196 (4): 474-7.

Work that demonstrates how Ketoconazole has a significant anti-inflammatory activity against diseases such as? Androgenetic alopecia regardless of the possible association with Minoxidil.

KETOCONAZOLE IN THE TREATMENT OF SEBORROCIC DERMATITIS

Acta Derm Venereol. 1997 Mar; 77 (2): 132-4.

A dated study that nevertheless demonstrates the effectiveness of the ketoconazole-based shampoo in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis.

The improvement of the clinical picture was observed in only 4 weeks of treatment.
