Indications Rigentex ® - Tocopherol

RIGENTEX ® is indicated in the prevention and treatment of vitamin E deficiency states and in cases where it is necessary to enhance endogenous antioxidant activity.

Mechanism of action Rigentex ® - Tocopherol

Alpha tocopherol, more commonly known as vitamin E, is a fundamental micronutrient in preserving the correct state of health of the nervous and cardiovascular system.

Its antioxidant action, supported by a pull of other substances such as vitamin C, lipoic acid and coenzyme Q10, guarantees significant protection of cellular components from damage induced by reactive oxygen species, and in particular the lipid component, punctually subjected to the risk of lipid peroxidation, responsible for the altered process of cellular communication and the consequent inflammatory diathesis.

In fact, another series of fundamental activities has been attributed to this vitamin, such as the modulation of intracellular signaling and the inhibition of the expression of pro-aggregating and pro-inflammatory molecules responsible among other things for the development of numerous pathological conditions such as atherosclerotic ones .

Therefore, in the light of what has just been described, it is clear that significant deficiencies of alpha tocopherol can seriously affect the functionality of the nervous and cardiovascular system.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

1. VITAMIN AND THE PREVENTION OF CISPLATINE NEUROTOXICITY

Neurology. 2010 Mar 2; 74 (9): 762-6.

Phase three study that shows how the daily intake of 300 mg of vitamin E can prevent some important side effects related to cisplatin chemotherapy. More precisely, the treated patients showed less drug-induced neuronal damage with a significant reduction of some signs of neurotoxicity.

2. VITAMIN C + AND IN THE PREVENTION OF OSTEOPOROSIS

J Nutr Health Aging. 2010 Jun; 14 (6): 467-72.

Study demonstrating how the intake of 1 gr of ascorbic acid and 400 IU of vitamin E could be useful in preventing and assisting the treatment of osteoporosis in adult patients.

3. THE VARIOUS FORMS OF VITAMIN AND IN NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES

Crit Rev Food Sci Nutr. 2010 May; 50 (5): 414-9.

Study that evaluates the pharmacokinetic characteristics of alpha tocopherol and gamma tocopherol, especially in relation to the different potentials of both active principles in preventing cognitive decay that is observed in neurodegenerative pathologies such as Alzheimer's.

Method of use and dosage

RIGENTEX ®

Soft capsules of 200-400 mg of alpha tocopherol in an oily solution.

Although the application range is between 100 mg and 300-400 mg daily of alpha tocopherol, the specific dosage should be evaluated by your doctor based on the physical characteristics of the patient and the severity of the clinical picture.

Warnings Rigentex ® - Tocopherol

Intake of RIGENTEX ® should be preceded by a medical examination to ascertain vitamin E deficiency or the need to enhance the cellular antioxidant pull.

Therefore the medical prescription for the purchase and consumption of RIGENTEX ® is necessary.

The presence of soybean oil in the capsules may be responsible for severe allergic reactions in hypersensitive patients.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

RIGENTEX ® is indicated in pregnancy, especially in those at high risk, to increase the body's antioxidant capacity.

However, this drug should be taken under close medical supervision.

Interactions

The intake of vitamin E could lead to an increased risk of bleeding in patients receiving concomitant therapy with oral anticoagulants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and antiplatelet agents.

Similarly, this vitamin could enhance the therapeutic effect of insulin and digitalis, thus requiring an adjustment of the doses used.

Contraindications Rigentex ® - Tocopherol

RIGENTEX ® is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient and its excipients.

Undesirable effects - Side effects

Although the intake of vitamin E is free of clinically relevant side effects, if carried out according to the prescribed dosage schedules, the administration for too long periods could be responsible for the appearance of blood coagulation problems.

Similarly, overdose is often associated with the presence of acute but fortunately transient gastro-intestinal disorders.

Note

RIGENTEX ® is salable exclusively with a medical prescription.
