E425 GOMMADI KONJAC or GLUCOMANNAN OF KONJAC
Konjac gum is an additive extracted from the tubers of the Amorphophallus Konjac, predominantly endowed with a gelling, thickening and support function for additives of vegetable origin.
It is used in Japan and China in the form of flour.
Konjac gum can be contained in various products, such as gummy sweets and chewing gum; it is therefore very easy to overuse it if these foods are frequently consumed; in this case, excess konjac gum can cause flatulence, diarrhea and even poor assimilation of proteins.
