Pustules - Causes and Symptoms

Definition

The pustules are circumscribed lesions of the skin, in relief with respect to the cutaneous plane, similar to vesicles, but containing purulent material. The liquid they contain, therefore, is an opalescent and turbid exudate.

Pustules are frequent during acne, infections (from bacteria or other microorganisms), folliculitis and some inflammatory pathologies (eg pustular psoriasis).

An example of pustules is pimples.
