Indications VAGISIL ® Lidocaine

VAGISIL ® is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of vaginal and perianal itching.

Mechanism of action VAGISIL ® Lidocaine

VAGISIL ® is a medicinal product based on Lidocaine, a local anesthetic that is effective in controlling the activation of peripheral nerve endings, blocking the depolarization of the cell membrane by reducing the permeability to sodium ions.

The aforementioned biological mechanism takes the form of the antipruritic and modestly pain-relieving activity exerted respectively by the depolarization block of type C unmyelinated fibers and nociceptive terminations.

Everything is favored by the good pharmacokinetic properties of Lidocaine applied topically, which make it possible to limit the systemic absorption of the drug and the consequent onset of systemic side effects.
