Clinodactyly - Causes and Symptoms

Definition

Clinodactyly is a congenital malformation characterized by a permanent curvature, medial or lateral, of a finger or phalanx. In some cases, the deviated end is placed above or below the neighboring one.

This manifestation can affect any finger, although generally the 5th is the most affected.

Clinodactyly can manifest itself as an isolated anomaly or in combination with other malformations in some genetic syndromes.
