Hypertension is a disease characterized by excessive blood pressure against the vascular walls, which lasts for most of the day; it can therefore be the result of excessive constriction of blood vessels, their partial obstruction (for example, the presence of atheromatous plaques), or excessive volume of blood (due to renal dysfunction or excess sodium).

Hypertension is often associated with obesity.

On the herbal front, plants with diuretic activity may be useful against a doctor, while sedative plants are useful in case of high pressure of nervous origin.
