Yellow fever: what are the areas at risk?

Yellow fever is a disease found in the endemic state in America and Africa, between the 15th parallel North and the 10th parallel South.

The incidence is higher in the savannah areas of central and western Africa, during the late rainy season and the initial dry season, with occasional epidemics in urban areas and in villages. The World Health Organization estimates that 200, 000 cases occur per year on the African continent.

In Central and South America, on the other hand, some equatorial and tropical regions are endemic: the episodes are sporadic (they would be 100-200 cases per year) and occur especially during the season in which the precipitation peak is recorded; there are very few cases of infected tourists.
