E483 TARTRATO DI STEARILE

Stearyl tartrate is a food additive of natural origin, obtained from a combination of stearic acid and tartaric acid. The origin of the stearic acid can be both vegetable and animal, even if it is almost always used that of vegetable origin.

These food additives are used in the various products for their emulsifying and stabilizing function. They can be contained for example in English specialties and bakery products.

At the moment we do not know of any negative side effects for human health related to the consumption of food products added with stearyl tartrate.

Dose ADI: 20 mg per kg of body weight.
