Purify the skin

Facial cleansing is probably the most important treatment to prevent or treat acne and skin impurities. Housewife or professional, facial cleansing allows you to thoroughly cleanse the skin through the (literal) removal of dead cells, blackheads, pimples or other small skin defects.

The concept of cleansing the face goes far beyond the "simple" elimination of dirt: thoroughly cleaning the face means taking care of yourself, preserving the skin in optimal conditions and preventing the deposit of bacteria, impurities and accumulations of sebum on the skin of the face.

Caution

From an exaggerated cleansing of the face it is paradoxically possible to obtain the opposite effect: an excessive cleansing can in fact remove the thin natural layer that covers the skin, drying it and making the skin more sensitive and subject to inflammation and spots.

  • An inadequate and exaggerated cleansing of the face risks drying the skin, stimulating it to increase the production of sebum which in turn predisposes to oiliness and pimples

Facial home cleaning

Daily cleansing of the face is the main gesture of love that the skin needs to appear soft, luminous and, above all, purified and free from all impurities.

To optimize the "purifying" effect of the facial treatment, it is necessary to thoroughly cleanse the skin in the morning, as soon as you wake up, and in the evening, before going to bed.

The first and most important step to start an adequate facial cleansing is to free the skin suffocated by makeup and other impurities that inevitably settle during the day. The skin, in fact, is comparable to a sponge: during the day, the natural hydro-lipid film of the skin captures and absorbs smog, pollution and dust, hindering the physiological skin transpiration. Here, then, that the cleansing of the face, meticulously performed with specific and delicate detergents, is essential to keep the skin in an optimal state of health for as long as possible.

Please note

Nothing could be more pure than water: an affirmation that is certainly true, but one should not think of performing a correct cleaning of the skin "washing" the face only with water (.... it would be like washing a dish greased with oil without the detergent ). From here you can easily understand how it is essential to carefully select the right detergents based on your skin type (dry, mixed, oily, etc.).

How to perform a proper facial cleansing at home?

AWAKENING ...

... the skin needs to be pampered and cleansed. First of all, it is recommended to gently massage the facial skin with a specific cleanser, which should always be chosen based on the type of skin. Pay particular attention to cleansing eyes, ears and neck. Proceed with cleaning the face by rinsing the skin with warm water. Conclude with a gentle drying and with the application, first of a tonic and, subsequently, of a cream suitable for your skin (moisturizing, emollient, redensifying, anti-aging etc.).

IN THE EVENING...

... the treatment to cleanse the face must be deeper. During the day, in fact, the skin is continuously subjected to the action of pollutants and dust: for this reason, the cleaning of the face must be more meticulous. After removing makeup with the help of cotton and make-up remover cosmetics, we recommend removing the detergent with warm water, dab gently with a soft cloth and massage the skin of the face and neck with a tonic.

  • Sometimes, it is possible to apply a facial scrub with specific cosmetic products with an exfoliating action. Even a simple do-it-yourself exfoliant - prepared with a base of coarse salt or sugar, and enriched with essential oils, yogurt or honey - can help rid the skin of acne and impurities deposited on the skin.

After having cleansed and dried the face, it is recommended to apply, both in the morning and in the evening, a nourishing, moisturizing and emollient cream to keep the skin soft, moisturized and radiant.

Cosmetic products must always be chosen according to the type of skin. For example:

  • Sweet almond oil to nourish sensitive, delicate and dry skin
  • Rose water to tone a skin tending to seborrheic dermatitis
  • Hyaluronic acid creams to deeply moisturize the skin: the product is an excellent remedy against wrinkles and dry skin
  • Anti-wrinkle creams to postpone the (inevitable) formation of these typical imperfections caused by skin aging
  • Anti-aging creams with a "filler-like" effect for mature skin
  • Creams with sunscreens, particularly indicated before sun exposure
  • Glycolic acid cream to combat acne and dark spots on the skin
  • Moisturizing, anti-reddening and soothing cream for sensitive skin

Professional facial cleansing

To optimize the daily cleansing of the face, when necessary it is important to contact the beautician - or another competent figure - to thoroughly clean the skin, removing all the imperfections that water and detergents cannot eliminate.

The professional cleaning of the face, to be performed occasionally, must be considered a reinforcing treatment, aimed above all at the well-being of the skin. The frequency with which one must turn to the beautician for a professional facial cleansing is however subjective, subject to the type of skin: for example, oily and acneic skin needs these treatments much more often than a normal skin.

Professional face cleansing involves several main steps, listed below:

  1. Accurate CLEANSING of the skin of the face through the application of detergent products suitable for the type of skin. The choice of detergent is very important: especially in the presence of an acneic and oily skin, it is necessary to prefer products with a slightly acid pH - such as to reduce as much as possible the secretion of sebum - enriched with sebum-normalizing and dermo-purifying substances
  2. After removing all traces of detergent from the skin of the face, proceed with the application of a TONIC, a refreshing and alcohol-free substance that invigorates the skin.
  3. Subsequently, the face is sprayed with HOT VAPOR: the heat on the skin softens the sebum, while favoring the removal of comedones. Moisture, in addition to moisturizing the skin, encourages pores dilation, promoting their emptying. Steam treatment is contraindicated for particularly sensitive skin, especially if affected by couperose.
  4. We proceed with PEELING: the application of exfoliating products (eg alpha-hydroxy acids) promotes the detachment of dead cells anchored to the superficial layer of the skin, reducing the hyperkeratinization of the pimples. Scrub treatment is strongly discouraged in case of sensitive skin, couperose, affected by sunburn or dermatitis.
  5. The next step is the MANUAL REMOVAL OF FORUMCOLI, blackheads and impurities, which must always be performed with extreme care and delicacy.
  6. A CONCENTRATED SERUM is then applied - always specific for the type of skin - with anti-reddening, flaming, moisturizing, nourishing or sebum-balancing properties.
  7. We proceed with a delicate and relaxing MASSAGE, with a lymphatic drainage action to decongest the critical points, eliminating the toxins that stagnate in the system.
  8. Application of a MASK on the face: clay masks, for example, are indicated for acne-prone skin, collagen masks are specific for mature skin, while cucumber masks are dermo-purifying, remineralizing and refreshing.
  9. Complete face cleansing with the application of a moisturizing, emollient and protective CREAM.
