Directions ZERINOL GOLA ® Ambroxol

ZERINOL GOLA ® is indicated for the treatment of pain during upper respiratory tract infections and acute inflammation of the throat.

Mechanism of action ZERINOL GOLA ® Ambroxol

ZERINOL GOLA ®, a drug based on Ambroxol, is a medicinal product successfully used in the treatment of common sore throat, although its active ingredient is even more important in clinical applications.

The therapeutic intent of this drug is to exploit not the classic mucolytic effect of Ambroxol, but the less characterized painkiller, whose scientific evidence, mostly obtained on experimental models, underlines its effectiveness with particular emphasis.

From the molecular point of view the aforementioned action seems to be carried out by the ability of the active principle to reduce the permeability of the cell to Sodium, thus causing a hyperpolarization of the cell that prevents the correct transmission of the painful nerve impulse, thus exerting a modest analgesic action.

However, the efficacy of Ambroxol in these cases can also be attributed to its well-known antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect that spares the mucosa of the upper respiratory tract from the inflammatory stimuli present in these clinical conditions.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

THE ANALGESIC ROLE OF AMBROXOL

Eur J Pharmacol. 2010 Mar 25; 630 (1-3): 19-28. doi: 10.1016 / j.ejphar.2009.12.027. Epub 2010 Jan 4.

Study that seeks to molecularly characterize the analgesic activity of Ambroxol, demonstrating how this can reduce the activation of Sodium channels involved in the local nociception and pain transmission mechanism.

THE USE OF AMBROXOLO FOR VIA TOPIC

Drug Dev Ind Pharm. 2008 Mar; 34 (3): 330-5. doi: 10.1080 / 03639040701662644.

Pharmacokinetic studies that have identified the correct chemical formulation to ensure the release of Ambroxol topically, reducing some of the potential side effects classically linked to systemic therapy.

PREVENTIVE EFFECT OF THE AMBROXOL

Clin Exp Med. 2006 Jun; 6 (2): 79-83.

Interesting work that demonstrates how Ambroxol taken daily can be effective in reducing the appearance of episodes of re-exacerbation of acute pathologies of the upper respiratory tract.

Method of use and dosage

ZERINOL GOLA ®

Ambroxol hydrochloride 20 mg tablets.

Generally it is recommended to take ZERINOL GOLA ® as needed, for a maximum of 6 tablets per day to be eaten in the mouth.

Treatment should not exceed 3 days in duration, therefore in the absence of an improvement it would be advisable to consult your doctor.

Warnings ZERINOL GOLA ® Ambroxol

Although ZERINOL GOLA ® is generally well tolerated and free of side effects, it should be remembered that certain clinical conditions could make Ambroxol therapy less safe and therefore unpredictable.

In particular hepatic and renal pathologies, peptic ulcer and oral cavity, respiratory difficulties and expectoration are some of the diseases for which the use of Ambroxol could determine the onset of side effects, even serious.

Fortunately, there are fewer dermatological adverse reactions linked to the development of hypersensitivity reactions to the drug.

ZERINOL GOLA ® contains sorbitol, therefore its use is contraindicated in patients with fructose intolerance.

ZERINOL GOLA ® contains lactose therefore its use is contraindicated in patients with lactose intolerance, lactase enzyme deficiency and glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

The absence of studies able to fully characterize the safety profile of Ambroxol for the health of the fetus and the unborn child broadly extends the aforementioned contraindications to the use of ZERINOL GOLA ® also to pregnancy and the subsequent period of breastfeeding.

Interactions

At the moment there are no known active ingredients capable of interacting with ZERINOL GOLA ® resulting in the onset of clinically relevant pictures.

Contraindications ZERINOL GOLA ® Ambroxol

The use of ZERINOL GOLA ® is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or to one of its excipients.

Undesirable effects - Side effects

The use of ZERINOL GOLA ® could determine with some frequency the onset of alterations in the perception of flavors, hypoesthesia of the oral cavity and pharynx and more rarely diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

The adverse reactions associated with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient are even rarer.

Fortunately, rarer side effects are noteworthy as those of a neurological nature or hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.

Note

ZERINOL GOLA ® is a drug not subject to mandatory medical prescription.
