Indications PASTA LASSAR ® Salicylic acid + zinc oxide

PASTA LASSAR ® is indicated as an emollient in the treatment of various skin disorders such as eczema, hemorrhoids, dry skin, dermatitis, acne and psoriasis.

Mode of action PASTA LASSAR ® Salicylic acid + zinc oxide

The therapeutic properties of PASTA LASSAR ® are to be attributed to its two active ingredients:

  • Zinc oxide, endowed with marked anti-irritative, cytoprotective and healing properties that, applied to the skin, is able to form a thin whitish patina useful both in recovering the histological characteristics of the damaged tissue and in protecting the region from the damaging action of ultraviolet radiation .
  • Salicylic acid, which for topical use is able to carry out both a significant keratolytic action, exfoliating the most superficial layers of the epidermis and thus facilitating cell renewal, is a soothing and bacteriostatic action useful above all for the cutaneous regions damaged.

However, in order for both active ingredients to carry out the aforementioned actions it is necessary that these are present in the drug at specific concentrations, thus limiting the potential side effects that would result from their more concentrated use.

J Drugs Dermatol. 2012 Dec; 11 (12): 1403-8.

Recent study that supports the use of salicylic acid in 0.5% cream in the treatment of medium-sized acne in adolescent patients, making it both effective and safe.

CYTOTOXICITY FROM ZINC

Toxicol In Vitro. 2013 Jun; 27 (4): 1187-95. doi: 10.1016 / j.tiv.2013.02.010. Epub 2013 Feb 28.

Molecular study that evaluates the molecular mechanisms of zinc oxide activity, demonstrating how this compound can cause cell death by oxidation of molecular structures, when used incorrectly.

ZINC AND GENE SETTING

Zhonghua Lao Dong Wei Sheng Zhi Ye Bing Za Zhi. 2013 Feb; 31 (2): 117-20.
