After chickenpox, when is it possible to go back to school?

Chickenpox is no longer contagious 5-7 days after the appearance of the first skin manifestations. In practice, when all the vesicles have turned into scabs, the child can no longer transmit the disease and can return to school, even if his signs are still evident on the body.

The scabs will take a few more days to dry completely and fall off. As a rule, this occurs about 7-10 days after the appearance of the exanthem.

Chickenpox is a disease that is transmitted very easily and, by the same principle, the child who still has vesicular lesions should avoid going to public places, such as the playground or the swimming pool.
