Indications SEBIPROX ® - Ciclopirox

SEBIPROX ® is indicated for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp.

Mechanism of action SEBIPROX ® - Ciclopirox

SEBIPROX ®, a medicine based on Ciclopirox, is successfully used in the treatment of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp.

Its therapeutic action in the aforementioned cases is due to the anti-fungal activity against Pityrasporum and Malassezia, microorganisms involved in the pathogenesis of seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp, performed through the biological mechanism that involves the chelation of heavy metals, including iron, important for cellular metabolism.

The anti-fungal action is supplemented by the antibacterial action directed against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria which even more effectively supports the therapeutic properties of SEBIPROX ®.

The pharmacodynamic properties are further optimized by the pharmacokinetic properties which, by minimizing the systemic absorption of Ciclopirox, make the therapy safe and well tolerated.
