Directions Gomenolato Oil

Gomenolato oil is indicated in the treatment of inflammatory and congestive conditions of the upper areas, due to its antiseptic and fluidifying properties.

Action mechanism Oil Gomenolato

The gomelonato oil is an essential oil extracted from a plant belonging to the Myrtacee family known as Gomenolo, widespread especially in the Australian territory and in the Pacific basin.

The therapeutic properties of this essence, characterized by the decongestant, fluidifying action of the nasal mucus, antiseptic and bactericidal are generally attributed to different active principles present in it such as 1, 8 Cineolo, the gamma Terpineol, the Limonene, the Linaol and others molecules belonging to the terpenes family.

The naturalness of its components and the bland and balsamic biological action, allow the gomenolato oil to be used effectively both in the treatment of phlogistic and congestive states of the adult degku nasal mucosa and of children, in both cases topically.

However, it should be remembered that the possible systemic absorption of some of its active ingredients such as Cineol, could cause an induction of liver enzymes, transiently and benignly altering the hematochemical markers of liver function.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

CINEOLO AND TRANSMISSION OF PAIN

Takaishi M, Uchida K, Fujita F, Tominaga M.

Very interesting basic study that demonstrates how Cineolol, the main active principle of the gomenolato oil, can interact with TRPA1, a receptor involved in nociception and transmission of inflammatory pain, exercising a potentially inhibitory role

ANTI-HUMID EFFECTS OF CINEOLO

Experimental study demonstrating how CIneol can inhibit tumor progression in small mice contextually affected by SCID, exerting a pro-apoptotic action against colo-rectal carcinoma cells. This evidence supports the protective action of this element.

CINEOLO AS AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY

Life Sci. 2013 Jul 10; 92 (24-26): 1195-201. doi: 10.1016 / j.lfs.2013.05.009. Epub 2013 May 20.

Yet another experimental study that demonstrates how Cineol can reduce the anatomical-functional damage present during acute pancreatitis, modulating the expression of pro-inflammatory genes involved in the synthesis of inflammatory cytokines.

Method of use and dosage

Gomenolato oil is found in nasal drops concentrated at 0.5% - 1% and 2%.

Generally, it is recommended to instill 2-3 drops per nostril several times a day, taking care to use solutions with 1% gomenolato oil in children and 2% in adults.

Warnings Gomenolato Oil

The use of gomenolato oil should be limited to brief interventions, a few days, and used with caution and according to the instructions of your doctor.

It is in fact appropriate to consider the potential neurological effects of terpenic agents taken at high doses, which would derive from the prolonged use of this product over time.

It is also important to consider the possible presence of oils of vegetable origin in gomenolate oil-based products, potentially responsible for allergic attacks in atopic patients.

It is recommended to keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

Given the chemical nature and given the absence of studies able to characterize the safety profile of the gomenolate oil for the health of the fetus and infant, it is recommended to avoid the use of this product during pregnancy and in the subsequent period of breastfeeding.

Interactions

The inducing effects of Cineole on liver enzymes, could determine a variation of the pharmacokinetic properties of active ingredients taken simultaneously and metabolized by cytochromial enzymes.

It is therefore recommended to avoid the simultaneous intake of these active ingredients.

Contraindications Oil Gomenolato

The use of gomenolato oil is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or to structurally related drugs, in patients suffering from severe liver disease or from morbid states affecting the biliary tract and in small patients with neurological disorders such as epilepsy and febrile convulsions.

Undesirable effects - Side effects

The use of gomenolato oil is generally devoid of clinically relevant side effects, although its use could determine the appearance of laryngospasm.

Fortunately, rarer are the side effects worthy of note, potentially associated with the abuse of this product.

Note

Gomenolato oil is a non-prescription drug.
