Definition

Arthritis is an inflammatory process affecting the joints. Over a hundred forms are known, but the most common are osteoarthritis (it damages the cartilages and involves friction between the bony heads), gouty arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. In general, there are arthritis of traumatic origin (arthrosis), infectious (septic), metabolic (gouty), autoimmune (rheumatoid) or idiopathic.

Further indications

Arthritis is characterized by joint pain accompanied by stiffness, redness, heat and swelling of the affected joints. Joint pain is felt, in particular, after activity or at the end of the day, but the situation improves with rest. The articulation is rigid, especially in the morning as soon as you get up or after a day of rest.

The symptoms of arthritis also include fatigue, limitation of movement and appearance of inflammatory nodules. Over the years, inflammation can cause damage to the joints involved and, in the most severe forms, can develop into a debilitating disease.

Early diagnosis and treatment of arthritis are essential for controlling inflammation and limiting joint damage.
