Vibration and sport

Edited by Paolo Navone

For millions of years, and still today, our body has always been exposed to vibrations, even if we do not notice it directly.

For example, during a fight or even better during an earthquake, our body reacts to these stimuli of short duration and of very high intensity producing positive effects on the muscular and ostro-articular structures. Let's see why.

The first vibrating platforms were used in Russian space stations, and they allowed the astronauts, using them only 10 minutes a day, to remain in orbit for a full 420 days, unlike the American ones that only after 120 days of "space" had to return to earth for serious bone and muscle problems.

Born and raised at the hands of Dr. Carmelo Bosco, the vibrating platforms have today evolved considerably; these tools intervene especially on:

Neuro-muscular system

Circulation

Cartilage

Bone tissue

Hormonal System

Neurotransmitters

As far as the hormonal system is concerned, recent studies have shown that with only 10 minutes a day of vibration, there is a significant increase in both the growth hormone, GH, and testosterone, therefore an increase in explosive strength, of maximum strength, power, elasticity and resistance.

The vibrating platform is absolutely not to be confused with the various methods of passive gymnastics, since the principle on which Bosco and the other researchers worked was very different.

In the medical and rehabilitation field, positive results have been obtained for pathologies such as: muscle atrophy, pubalgia, knee pathologies, multiple sclerosis and finally osteoporosis, with a significant increase in bone density.

Aesthetically speaking, instead, the vibration has immediate consequences on the metabolism, favoring a greater combustion of fats and reducing cellulite, with an important lymph-draining effect.

Studies have shown that after only 10 days, for 10 minutes a day, an increase in explosive strength and the first "visible" effects of training were achieved.

In the market there are also the "swinging" platforms, which reproduce the movement of the walk, but in my opinion lower than the vibrators, which manage to contract and decentralize the muscle bands without overloading the muscle-tendon and cartilage.

To recognize them, just look at the frequency: from 0-25 Hz Tilting platform, 30-50 Hz Vertical vibration platform.

Vibration is very important and goes hand in hand with the training method I teach: BIIO; so much intensity, equally rest, and supercompensation of the body that returns stronger than ever for the new "fight".
