E473 SACCAROSIC ESTERS OF FATTY ACIDS
The saccharose esters of fatty acids are compounds obtained from glycerol and natural fatty acids (which are mainly of vegetable origin, but also those of animal origin could be used).
The compounds obtained have a composition similar to partially digested natural fat and esterified with sugars.
Mainly, these additives have an emulsifying, stabilizing, supportive function for synthetic dyes and antioxidants; participate in flour processing.
The saccharose esters of fatty acids can be contained in various products such as in bakery products.
At the moment there are no known negative side effects for human health as the body metabolizes all components just like sugar and natural fats.
The only risk is that it may contain small concentrations of extraction solvents.
Dose ADI: 16-20 mg per kg of body weight.
