Macules - Causes and Symptoms

Definition

The macules are flat lesions, therefore they do not result either in relief or depressed with respect to the skin surface; consequently, they are not even palpable. Macules usually have a diameter less than 10 mm.

The macules are discolored, that is they are characterized by a color variation (they can be more or less dark compared to the normal pigmentation of the skin). The bush is a large macula.

The macules can derive from circumscribed hemorrhages, inflammations and other pathological processes. Examples of macules are freckles, freckles and flat snows. Even the rashes that result from rickettsia, measles and rubella infections are an example.
