How it all began

It was July 2009, during my stay in Sacramento (Northern California) for the preparation of my last bodybuilding race to date (January 2010) played - "NPC Tournament of Champions" in which I arrived second in the heavyweight category - when I received an email from a guy named Gionata, with whom he asked for information about the personal training service I provided.

A few words on his part, but straight to the point.

I replied as always, that is, that on my return I would be available for a personal interview to satisfy any information, technical and operational details concerning the professional activity of personal training exercised by me.

On September 7th, the week before the event, I moved to Los Angeles as the place where the race would take place.

Again and always via email, in that period I received another message from him that made me present, always with a few lines but extremely concise, that his interest in me, then in the personal interview, was always firm and vivid and, therefore, he was impatient to know the date of my return.

We met at the end of September.

Like most of the people I meet, in order to provide information on my personal training service, Gionata showed great motivation and desire to start.

To test the firmness of the enthusiasm that showed through his speeches and gestures, I immediately put him to the test with questions designed to capture how much his will could actually arrive at satisfying essential-pivotal points concerning the applicability of programming, on which success is based on achieving the set objective and scope (in this case: improvement of body composition - more lean mass, less fat mass).

These questions were:

  1. " Are you willing to perform physical activity with metabolically aerobic connotations in the morning on an empty stomach, that is before eating your first meal of the day (breakfast) "?
  2. " Are you willing to consume 6-7 meals a day for 6 days a week "?

Jonathan replied respectively:

  1. " Despite my severe working hours, which implies entry to work at 8 am, so I wake up at 6.30 am, I will have no problem getting up an hour earlier to undertake what will lead me where I want to ".
  2. "I have no problem in meeting this daily frequency in eating meals; I am already adept at doing it, even with unhealthy foods. I will only have to change their quality and quantity as you prepare " .

Furthermore, he added: " If I were not motivated, I would not be here to waste time with you "!

Although it was a question of just words and a chat, I would like to state that most of the people who have never started the program or who have not started the program from the established experience based on numerous introductory talks I have undertaken and for the same purpose. have obtained noteworthy results (despite their obvious "extreme motivation") are the same as those who answered the same questions by advancing a myriad of justifications for their non-possibility (despite the great motivation and will) in satisfying the applicability of these two points.
