E370 EPTONOLATTONE
Etonolactone is a synthetic acidifying compound, obtained from hydroxy-heptanoic acid. It is a "doubtful" compound because there are conflicting opinions about its toxicity.
The eptonolactone is an acidity regulator and also a flavoring compound. It can be found in different flavors such as vanilla, walnut, coconut.
At the moment it is still a little studied additive, of which the side effects are not known.
