Indications UNIVIT ® - Ascorbic Acid

UNIVIT ® is used in the prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiencies.

Mechanism of action UNIVIT ® - Ascorbic acid

Vitamin C deficiency, fortunately very rare today and limited almost exclusively to cases of severe malnutrition, is characterized by a particularly dangerous symptomatology, for which it is essential to fix immediate remedies.

The physio-pathological repercussions of these deficits affect different organs and systems in which ascorbic acid, either as a cofactor or as the main protagonist, contributes to maintaining their functional and structural properties.

Carnitine synthesis and control of lipid metabolism, biosynthesis of steroid hormones and catecholamines and endocrine control, direct and indirect antioxidant activity and protection from oxidative damage of reactive oxygen species, collagen synthesis and structuring of connective tissues, represent only some of the most important functions of ascorbic acid, whose reduction would significantly compromise its success.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

1. VITAMIN EC ERADICANT THERAPY OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI

A study demonstrating that the intake of vitamin C and vitamin E during the antibiotic eradication therapy of Helicobacter Pylori can increase the success of the therapy by about 10%.

2. VITAMIN EC PROSTATIC DISEASE

Epidemiological study that shows how the intake of vitamin C and vitamin E may be inversely related to the incidence of prostate cancer, thus demonstrating the important role of diet in carcinogenesis.

3. VITAMIN EC HEALTH STATUS

Supplementation with one gram of vitamin C, combined with a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, is particularly important in maintaining optimal health.
