Dogs, cats and tick control

Dogs and cats are very susceptible to ticks and diseases that they transmit as carriers. For this reason, it is important to protect them by using specific products with repellent activity (sprays, collars, powders or spot-ons against ticks), to be applied at least one month before the start of the season at risk (indicatively from February to March at October-November).

In the domestic environment, moreover, it is advisable to periodically check and clean kennels, mats and places where they find their usual shelter . After attending the areas at risk, it is necessary to inspect the animals, paying particular attention to the head, periorbital area, neck and legs. As soon as you discover a tick stuck on the body of the dog or cat it is good practice to detach it as soon as possible and contact your veterinarian to schedule a checkup.
