Indications YOVIS ® Live milk enzymes

YOVIS ® is indicated for the treatment of intestinal micro-organisms due to infectious diseases or antibiotic therapies.

YOVIS ® can be successfully used to rebalance the intestinal bacterial flora even during diarrheal syndromes, non-specific enteritis and colitis.

YOVIS ® mechanism of action Live lactic ferments

YOVIS ® provides an important spectrum of microorganisms useful for balancing the intestinal flora.

Taken on an empty stomach, it allows live milk enzymes contained in it to be able to overcome the gastric barrier and reach the intestinal level, colonizing it.

The therapeutic effect of this medicine is essentially due to the possibility of the microorganisms described, to be able to establish a symbiotic relationship with the human intestine, allowing both to reduce and avoid the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, and to rebalance the surrounding microenvironment in such a way as to support the integrity of the intestinal mucosa and avoid subsequent reinfections.

The rebalancing of the intestinal context evidently affects the general state of health of the patient, so much so that he can observe an effective regulation of the immune system.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

MIXTURE OF LIVICI FERMENTI VIVI O SINGLE SPECIES?

With the generic term probiotics, a series of foods, supplements, drugs containing commensal microbial species and symbionts of the human intestine are now indicated. Although these products have a common purpose, they are different both in terms of composition and effects. The market offers products based on a single bacterial strain or mixtures of live lactic ferments. Studies have shown that mixtures of live microorganisms, may be more effective than single species, in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsias, inflammatory bowel diseases, diarrheal syndrome and respiratory and immune disorders.

2. PROBIOTICS AND PREVENTION OF INTESTINAL DAMAGE

It is known that the administration of probiotics can guarantee a modulating, protective and regenerating action on the intestinal mucosa, subjected to damage by microbial agents. Recent studies have shown how lactic ferments can preserve the intestinal mucosa from damage also caused by inflammatory cytokines. These evidences open a new avenue of study, relative to the usefulness of these bacteria in preserving the structural and functional integrity of the mucosa also during chronic inflammatory pathologies.

3.PROBIOTICS, A SECTOR STILL IN THE STUDIO

Although the use of probiotics in clinical practice has been in force for several years, there are still no guidelines that can lead the doctor and the patient towards the formulation of the most effective dose, the choice of the product most suited to therapeutic needs. The high presence of studies in the literature, which show conflicting data, could be correlated precisely to the lack of guiding pillars, useful for normalizing the intake of these medicines.

Method of use and dosage

YOVIS ® sachet with granules for oral suspension of 250mg / 1g of lyophilized live lactic acid bacteria:

the dose indicated for adults is 1/3 sachets of 1 g per day, while for children it drops to one sachet a day, preferably before meals dissolved in water.

The 250 mg sachets allow the use of this medicine even for the little ones, but in this case the dosage should be decided by your doctor.

Warnings YOVIS ® Live milk ferments

YOVIS ® contains lactose, therefore it may cause gastro-intestinal symptoms in patients with lactose intolerance, lactase enzyme deficiency or glucose / galactose malabsorption syndrome.

The efficacy of this medicine is closely related to the presence of live lactic acid bacteria, therefore it is advisable to keep the product between 2 and 4 ° C to preserve the vitality of these microorganisms.

YOVIS ® does not cause drowsiness nor does it alter the patient's normal perceptive abilities, therefore it can be taken freely even before starting to drive vehicles or using machinery.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

YOVIS ® has no contraindications when taken during pregnancy or during the lactation period.

Nevertheless it would be advisable to contact your doctor before starting to take this medicine.

Interactions

At present, the scientific literature has shown no significant interaction between YOVIS ® of other active ingredients. It is evident that in this case, the absence of resistant poliantebitoco species, make these lactic ferments vulnerable to the most common antibiotics, therefore it would be indicated to take them away from antibiotics.

Contraindications YOVIS ® Live milk enzymes

YOVIS ® is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to one of its components, therefore also in case of lactose intolerance, lactase enzyme deficiency or glucose / galactose malabsorption.

Undesirable effects - Side effects

YOVIS ® is a drug that is well tolerated and has no clinically significant side effects.

Coincidentally however, above all following the prolonged intake of lactic ferments, the presence of modest flatulence and abdominal pain was described.

Note

YOVIS ® is an OTC drug, without a prescription, therefore it can be sold freely.
