Definition
In the presence of coagulation disorders, such as those resulting from leukemia or overdose of oral anticoagulants, slight blood loss can occur, for example, in the gingival (teeth washing), nasal or anal (due to the presence of hemorrhoids). Typical is also the appearance of small ecchymoses (bruises) on the skin following trauma even of modest entity.
