The coraco-brachialis muscle originates, as the name suggests, from the apex of the coracoid process of the scapula, an origin that it shares with the short head of the biceps muscle. It is inserted on the middle third of the anteromedial face of the humerus.
It is found medially and deeply at the short head of the triceps. It is related to the deltoid, with the lateral part of the pectoralis major and with the short head of the biceps.
With his action he flexes and adducts his arm. He works to keep the humeral head in its natural place. In the flexion of the arm it acts in the first 50 ° of movement in synergy with the deltoid and large pectoral muscles (clavicular part).
It is innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve (C6-C7).
