Another property of tannins is the haemostatic one. In fact, in contact with a wound, the ability of tannins to bind tenaciously to local proteins in some way favors the formation of the clot and the arrest of hemorrhage. The tannins also induce localized vasoconstriction.
Due to these properties, tannins are found in the regeneration of tissues affected by small wounds and burns.
