Tragacanth gum is a natural polysaccharide derived from the resin of a tree found in Asian reasons.
Used as a food additive, it is a compound with a thickening, emulsifying and natural stabilizing function.
Tragacanth is present as an additive in various foods, such as decorations for cakes, sliced cheese, etc.
No side effects are recorded at the doses normally used, but consumption at high concentrations causes flatulence, diarrhea and swelling (due to fermentation by the intestinal microflora), allergies and skin reactions.
