Directions PEVARYL ® Econazole

PEVARYL ® is indicated in the treatment of skin diseases sustained by microorganisms sensitive to Econazole and responsible for mycosis, onychomycosis, pityriasis versicolor, otitis media and other skin diseases.

Mechanism of action PEVARYL ® Econazole

The? Econazole, contained in PEVARYL ®, is an active ingredient with marked anti-fungal activity, directed towards dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and Gram-negative bacteria, therefore also effective against infections caused by mixed flora.

Applied topically, ? ™ Econazole permeates the plasma membranes of the pathogenic microorganism, reaching concentrations within it that inhibit their replicative and vital capacity through:

  • The inhibition of the enzyme 14 alpha-sterol dimethylase, involved in the synthesis of? Ergosterol, a key element of the plasma membrane whose presence confers rigidity and structure to the cell;
  • The? Accumulation of intermediate metabolites, able to interfere with the activities of membrane enzymes, important in mediating the trophic and energy functions of the cell.

The great therapeutic efficacy is also guaranteed by the low systemic absorption of the active principle which significantly limits the risk of drug interactions and clinically relevant side effects.
