Indications AIROL ® Tretinoin

AIROL® is indicated in the cutaneous treatment of acne vulgaris and in particular comedonic forms.

Mechanism of action AIROL ® Tretinoin

AIROL® is a drug based on Tretinoin, a name used to indicate the acid form of vitamin A, which clearly stands out from aldehyde or alcoholic forms, characterized by a decidedly more modest effectiveness.

The topical use of this principle is exercised in the treated skin region:

  • an impressive exfoliating action, important in removing the most superficial keratinized skin layers;
  • a mitotic and proliferative activity, able to accelerate the cellular enzymatic activity, probably guaranteeing a reprogramming of the gene expression, thus facilitating the regeneration of the previously abraded skin layer.

The therapeutic action is evident above all in the comedones, where the initial decheratinization is important in clearing the hair follicle channel, allowing a correct regeneration of the epidermis.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

TRETINONIN: CLINICAL TRIAL IN MEXICAN PATIENTS

J Cosmet Dermatol. 2013 Jun; 12 (2): 103-7.

Clinical trial conducted on about 170 patients who demonstrated the effectiveness of Tretinonin, comparable to that of? Adapelene, in the treatment of acne vulgaris in Mexican patients, reducing the extent of inflammatory lesions.

ALOE VERA MORE? TRETINONINE

J Dermatolog Treat. 2013 May 6. [Epub ahead of print]

Interesting work that demonstrates how the ™ association of Aloe vera with Tretinonin can optimize the therapeutic efficacy of the latter in the treatment of acne vulgaris, facilitating the regression of inflammatory lesions.

SHORT THERAPY WITH TRETINONINE

J Dermatolog Treat. 2013 Jan 20. [Epub ahead of print]

Important clinical study that seeks to limit the classic side effects of Tretinonin using a brief contact therapy, characterized by the 30 minute impromptu application of the drug.

The results seem promising especially in limiting the incidence of contact dermatitis.

Method of use and dosage

AIROL®

Topical cream of 0.05 gr of Tretinonin per 100 grams of product;

Skin use lotion of 0.05 g of Tretinonin per 100 g of solution.

The correct use, which must clearly take place after a medical prescription, generally involves the application of one or two times a day of the correct amount of cream or lotion directly on the skin region to be treated.

Treatment should be extended for at least 3 to 5 weeks to observe the first beneficial effects of therapy.

Warnings AIROL ® Tretinoin

The use of AIROL® should be preceded by a careful medical examination in order to clarify the origin of the described skin lesions and the possible prescription appropriateness of Tretinonin.

The patient in therapy should at the same time pay particular attention to the use of the drug, taking care of:

  • clean hands thoroughly after applying the drug;
  • avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes;
  • avoid direct exposure of the treated area to ultraviolet rays.

It is also recommended to avoid the use of AIROL® in patients with previous burns even of modest magnitude and to consider the potential adverse events that would result from inappropriate use of the medicine.

Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

The absence of studies able to better characterize the safety profile of retinoids taken topically for the fetus and instead known the side effects of systemic therapy extend the aforementioned contraindications also to pregnancy and the subsequent period of breastfeeding.

Interactions

In order to contain possible side effects deriving from therapy with AIROL®, it would be advisable to avoid the simultaneous intake of corticosteroids and drugs in general for topical use.

Contraindications AIROL ® Tretinoin

The use of AIROL® is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or to one of its excipients.

Undesirable effects - Side effects
