Although it is sometimes difficult to deal with, menopause is not a disease, but a physiological period of every woman's life; a complex period, certainly, in which the reproductive season - but only that - arrives at the terminus.

All these events, which precede and accompany menopause, are often grouped under the term " climacteric ".
Menopause, in fact, does not arise abruptly, but occurs gradually over a rather long period of time and on average between five and ten years.
During the climacteric cycles can be interrupted for several months and then return, as are frequent variations in the duration and intensity of the flow. All this procession of alterations, more or less flashy, obliges the woman to realize that something in her body is changing; it is therefore natural that it goes in search of information that comfort it and helps it to face this particular period in the best way.
Social Meaning
In recent decades, the relationship of women and society with menopause has changed radically, moving from an initial and depressing lack of interest to excessive manipulation for media and commercial purposes. The increasing wave of sensitivity towards menopause and its problems is in fact, at least in part, the result of the so-called "menopausal business" made up of drugs, magazines, dietary supplements, beauty institutes and so on.
Unfortunately, in some respects, all this frantic manipulation of the subject ends up overwhelming many women. The simple resignation, common in the past, has now given way to an anxious syndrome that puts a strain on female emotions.
We know that menopause is not a disease, we have different strategies for successfully dealing with problems, but we fear it and we would like that day never to come. This is, broadly speaking, the current relationship of women with menopause.
