Those who are about to buy cocoa flavored protein powders should be aware that their protein content is on average 5% lower than the same product enriched with other flavors (strawberry, hazelnut, etc.). In fact, while in cocoa (or chocolate) proteins the flavoring used is generally the common cocoa powder, in the other products artificial concentrates are used added in rather modest quantities, equal to 0.1 - 1% by weight.

To maximize protein intake, therefore, the choice should focus on other aromas, in particular on vanilla, which is added in modest quantities for its taste similar to the original Whey product.

Also because of the considerable cost savings, rather than buying cocoa proteins, it is therefore preferable to choose the neutral product, to then eventually add cocoa directly into the mixer or blender.
