Mode of action Vitamin B1 Angelini Urto ® - Thiamine

VITAMIN B1 ANGELINI URTO ® is a thiamine-based drug, a key vitamin in balancing the energetic and biosynthetic state of the human body.

Concentrated in tissues such as cardiac and nervous, predominantly in the form of thiamine pyrophosphate, it acts as a cofactor of decarboxylases and transketolases, involved respectively in the generation of energy from various macromolecules and in the synthesis of nucleic acids.

The lack of this vitamin, fortunately rare and present above all in some risk categories such as alcoholics, manifests itself with an intense neuropathy characterized by intense pain in the limbs, convulsions and in the most serious cases with encephalopathy ..

In these conditions the intake of thiamine by parenteral route can determine a rapid regression of the symptoms, significantly improving the patient's health conditions.

Studies carried out and clinical efficacy

1. EARLY VITAMIN B1 DEFICIT IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Important study aimed at raising the awareness of doctors operating in developing countries, regarding the presence of thiamine deficiency, also responsible for ataxia in pediatric patients.

2. FOOD HABITS AND DEFICIENCY OF VITAMIA B6

Very interesting study that investigates the possible effects of some unhealthy eating habits, such as the excessive consumption of isotonic drinks, able to reduce blood concentrations of thiamine, thus facilitating the appearance of serious side effects.

3. LACTIC ACIDOSIS AND VITAMIN B1 DEFICIT

Work that combines the lactic acidosis found in severely malnourished patients, the marked deficiency of thiamine pyrophosphate, and therefore the inability to effectively use the common aerobic glycolytic pathways.
