Anasarca - Causes and Symptoms

Definition

The anarchine is a widespread swelling of the subcutaneous tissues, due to the retention of an abnormal quantity of interstitial fluid.

This severe form of generalized edema leads to exhaustion, wheezing and significant weight gain. The phenomenon is also associated with effusion in serous cavities (pleura, peritoneum and pericardium).

The anarchine is found above all in the symptomatological picture of heart failure, liver cirrhosis and renal failure.

Feto-placental anasarca

The feto-placental pineapple is a serious complication of haemolytic disease of the newborn (or fetal erythroblastosis), which can occur in case of incompatibility between the Rh blood group of the fetus and that of the mother. This condition affects the fetus during development and often causes intrauterine death.
