Indications ROSICED ® Metronidazole

ROSICED ® is indicated for the topical treatment of papulopustular inflammatory manifestations of rosacea.

Mechanism of action ROSICED ® Metronidazole

ROSICED ® is a drug based on metronidazole, used in the treatment of rosacea, characterized by papulo-pustular lesions with an inflammatory course.

Topically applied, metronidazole is selectively absorbed by anaerobic and protozoan bacteria, permeating the plasma membrane and reaching the cytosolic environment, in which interacting with thiol groups of various enzymes determines the block of its functionality.

But the bactericidal action of metronidazole is certainly due to the ability of its intracellular catabolites to interact with bacterial DNA, forming unstable intermediates that seriously compromise the vitality of the microorganism.

This action is carried out exclusively in anaerobic bacteria, given the presence of a micro-environment particularly suited to the various chemical transformations of metronidazole, necessary for obtaining an active and effective catabolite.

EFFECTIVENESS OF METRONIDAZOLE IN THE TREATMENT OF ACNE VOLGARE

Indian J Dermatol. 2012 Jul; 57 (4): 279-81. doi: 10.4103 / 0019-5154.97666.

A clinical trial that demonstrates how Metronidazole 2% gel can be effective and very well tolerated in the treatment of mild acne of moderate intensity.

METRONIDAZOLE IN GINGIVITIS MANAGEMENT

J Int Acad Periodontol. 2012 Oct; 14 (4): 91-6.

A curious study that demonstrates the efficacy of Metronidazole in combination with Chlorhexidine in ensuring a correct management of gingivitis, reducing plaque production, often associated with the aforementioned pathology.
