Frequent Urination - Urinating Often

Definition

The frequent urination, identified by the medical term pollakiuria, consists in the increase of the daily episodes of expulsion of the urine.

Generally, the volume drained at each voiding action is rather small, whereas when frequent urination is accompanied by the elimination of large quantities of urine * the term polyuria is preferred. In the latter case, the condition may be linked to the simple consumption of abundant liquids, even when they are derived from plant foods (which we should mention are approximately 90% water).

Causes

There are numerous causes that can potentially cause frequent urination, let's see them in detail along with the other symptoms that characterize them:

  • FREQUENTLY MISSING ACCOMPANIMENT WITH SETE INTENSA AND POLIURIA: in both men and women it is one of the characteristic symptoms of diabetes mellitus and insipid symptoms.
  • FREQUENTLY DEFINED MISSION RELATED TO BURNERS AND / OR LOSSES FROM THE GLAND OR VAGIN: infections or inflammation of the urinary tract and / or sexually transmitted diseases. Often accompanied with stranguria, that is, with painful urination, with mild fever, with cloudy urine, sometimes with traces of blood and smelly.
  • FREQUENTLY DAMAGED MINING ASSOCIATED WITH NAUSEA MORNING AND INCREASED BREAST SENSITIVITY: in women, it could be a sign of pregnancy due to hormonal factors and the increased uterine volume that "pushes" against the bladder.
  • FREQUENTLY MINING ASSOCIATION WITH SMALL LOSSES: in women, after menopause, hormonal changes involve some unfavorable changes to the bladder, urethra and all the structures involved in urine elimination. The result, in some cases, is an unpleasant disorder, called urinary incontinence.
  • PROSTATIC HYPERTROPHY: excessive prostate growth, quite common after 50-60 years, tends to narrow the prostatic urethra more and more, resulting in frequent urination accompanied by a decrease in urinary jet intensity, stranguria, post-voiding drip and sensation of not having completely emptied the bladder.
  • PROSTATE CANCER: in the initial stages the symptomatology is similar to that of prostatic hypertrophy; for this reason, after the age of 50 it is a good rule to undergo periodic screening, even in the absence of symptoms.
  • CALCULATIONS OF URINARY STREETS: may be accompanied by haematuria and pain and burning during urination, but are not always associated with colonic pain in the side.
  • heart failure CONGESTION: nocturnal reabsorption of edemas can cause nocturia (emission of urine, bothersome and frequent, especially during the night).
  • ICTUS or OTHER NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES: damage to the nerves that control the bladder can cause frequent urination. Click here for stroke symptoms.
  • FREQUENTLY VOID AND HYPERTENSION: it could be due to certain drugs prescribed for the purpose of controlling blood pressure;
  • EMOTIONAL FACTORS (states of psychic excitement) AND NERVOUS DISEASES (tabe, stringomelia etc.) can cause frequent urination.
  • OTHER CAUSES OF FREQUENTLY MINING:
    • bladder diverticula;
    • bladder neoplasms (frequent symptoms are the presence of blood in the urine and the formation of clots, the burning sensation in the bladder when the abdomen is compressed, the difficulty and pain to urinate, the greater ease in contracting infections);
    • neoplasms from neighboring organs (uterus, rectum, sigma, prostate) that infiltrate the detrusor wall (the bladder muscle that allows the urine to contract and empty).
