The expression "sensitive gums" indicates an annoying or painful sensation at the level of the gingival surface, around one or more teeth.
The main cause is an inflammatory process that affects the gums (gingivitis), often a consequence of inaccurate oral hygiene.
In case of sensitive gums, the dentist can propose the most appropriate therapy. In the meantime, it is advisable to follow a correct oral hygiene program, choosing a brush with soft bristles and applying less force to brushing.
